Alta Lakes Observatory
Have you ever wanted to spend the night deep in the mountains, cozy in a rustic cabin, just like the old timers did in the 1800’s? At the Alta Lakes Observatory, you’ve got that opportunity. This cabin comes ready with the amenities for a romantic overnight or a family retreat, and is just as suited for your small corporate gathering.
At timberline, Alta Lakes Observatory is nestled at an altitude of 11,300' beneath the 13,800' Silver Mountain and Palmyra Peaks. The cabin is surrounded by the National Forest on a remote site next to one of the three pristine Alta Lakes. The Observatory is adjacent to the Telluride Ski Resort and in the winter is accessible by snowmobile, cross-country ckis, snowshoe, Telluride Ski Resort back-country gate ONLY. Since there is a bit more planning with this adventure, please call Eco Adventures well in advance so we can work with you on all of the details.
