The Telluride Ski Resort kicked off the 2007-2008 winter season Wednesday, Nov. 28th. Lift 4 will run with skiing and riding on Village Bypass to Lower Boomerang. The terrain park crew has also contructed an excellent pocket park just above Gorrono Ranch. The park features 2 hits, 2 boxes and 2 rails to help jibbers tune up their freestyle skills.
“Following a foot of new snow and great conditions for snowmaking last week, we are thrilled to get the 2007-08 winter season off and running,” said CEO Dave Riley. “The timing is perfect with local students out of school for parent/teacher conferences tomorrow, and plenty of anxious skiers ready to make turns.”
Additional runs will open as conditions allow, with snowmaking and grooming working around the clock in order to maximize skiable terrain on the mountain. Weather forecasts look promising for new snow within the week.
