Town Race Series Kicks Off January 21
Afternoon Races Open to All

TELLURIDE, Colo . (Jan. 9, 2009) – Feel the need for speed? The Town Race Series, sponsored by Pacific Street Liquors, is back with a five event schedule featuring slalom, giant slalom and a Kombi. The racing kicks-off Wed., Jan. 21, and runs through the April 1 final.

Skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers are all welcome. Races run from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. on the Nastar/Race Hill, and each competitor gets four runs, best run counts. For team scoring, the best three times will be taken. Individual racers are also welcome, and results and points rankings will be tracked through the season.

Awards presentations will follow each race at 5:30 p.m. at the Hop Garden, with great prizes and beer specials.

“The Town Race Series provides a great opportunity to get out, go fast and test yourself against friends and family,” said Competition Manager John Jett. “It’s a fun, casual atmosphere, with excellent prizes at the Hop Garden awards and after-party.”

Team and individual registration for the five event series must be completed by January 21 at 12:00 p.m. at the Race Building located at the base of the Race Hill Lift (2). Teams will consist of seven racers of any discipline with at least one racer of each gender. Entry fee for a team will be $40 per racer.  Individuals not on a team roster may race as independents.  Registration fees for individuals will be $10 per race or $40 for the entire series.
