    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

NEWLY DESIGNED ST. SOPHIA NATURE CENTER OFFERS ADULT AND YOUTH ACTIVITIES
Presentations, Nature and Bird Hikes, Workshops and More!

TELLURIDE, Colo. (June 22, 2009) – As part of Telluride Ski & Golf’s ecotourism initiative, the St. Sophia Nature Center is kicking off the summer season with a new look and a variety of educational activities for both children and adults. Located just steps from the gondola on Coonskin Ridge, visitors stop by to learn about area ecosystems or get the latest hiking and biking trail information.

“We are excited to offer a new and improved Nature Center to our guests, locals, and especially the children,” said Kevin Maughan, guest services manager of the St. Sophia Nature Center. “The activities and workshops have just begun, and we are proud to provide such a great service to our guests.”

Children who visit the center can create nature crafts or participate in activities aimed to increase the understanding and appreciation of Telluride’s natural world.  The Nature Center's new environmental programs are held all summer and feature native wildlife education, children's activities and crafts, as well as guided interpretive hikes to learn about Telluride's natural flora, fauna and more.

    Kid's activities this week include:
