TELLURIDE SKI & GOLF PROUDLY PRESENTS PLAY FOR P.I.N.K.
Golf Tournament Proceeds Benefit Breast Cancer Research
Play Begins At 8 A.M. On July 15
TELLURIDE, CO. (July 10, 2009) - Telluride Ski and Golf is proud to present the Play for P.I.N.K. golf tournament next Wed. July 15, 2009, at the Telluride Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the P.I.N.K. foundation, which donates and expedites funds to stop the spread of breast cancer.
“We have received incredible support, sponsorships and donations. It is important we all do our part to raise both awareness and donations for breast cancer research,” said Pro Shop Manager and organizer Tara Kelly. “This will be a fun, fantastic event, and we’re looking forward to a great turnout.”
P.I.N.K. (Prevention, immediate Diagnosis, New Technology, Knowledge) is a grassroots fundraising organization using lifestyle and sporting events to raise funds for breast cancer research. 100% of all proceeds are donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to fund the world's top researchers. Since 1996, P.I.N.K. has raised $15.75 million for breast cancer research - one creative event at a time – and $3,000,000 was raised in 2008 alone.
Play begins at 8 a.m. on July 15 with an 18 hole shotgun scramble start. The entry fee is $160.00 including breakfast, lunch, and a bag of goodies from various sponsors.
Prizes include four rounds of golf at Cornerstone for the low net team. The New Sheridan has donated a night stay and dinner for two for both the closest to the pin men’s and the longest drive men’s. The Most Fashionable team wins dinner at Allred’s. Closest to the pin ladies and longest drive ladies win Two Skirts gift certificates. Each hole is locally sponsored and the event facilitators are Tara Kelley and Ty Treacy.
Sponsors of the event include; Telluride Ski & Golf, The New Sheridan Hotel and Restaurant, Cornerstone Resorts, Two Skirts, Jim Wells, PortaJane, Colorado Beverage, The Peaks Hotel and Golden Door Spa, Browndog, Lars Carlson, Allred’s Restaurant, and Joyce and Ron Allred.
“PortaJane is proud to be sponsoring the Breast Cancer Research Foundation,” said Chris Christian, owner of PortaJane, a portable bathroom facility designed especially for women. “We are all excited to be contributing our part to keep research growing to prevent and stop this terrible disease.”
