PRESEASON STORM HITS TELLURIDE TELLURIDE, Colo. (Nov. 13, 2009) – Telluride is currently being hit hard with 8 inches of new snow from a winter storm slated to persist throughout Sunday. Chance of precipitation is 80% over the duration of the weekend, with new snow accumulation of well over a foot predicted by Sunday. According to the national weather service, numerous winter storm warnings and advisories are in effect for much of western Colorado tonight through Sunday. Today and tonight widespread snow will increase over the mountains, with heavy snowfall developing. Mountain snowfall accumulations through tonight will range from 6-12 inches. Snowfall will continue over most mountain locations as a secondary cold front moves through the area Saturday. Telluride continues this year on an unprecedented run of terrain expansion, opening Gold Hill Chutes 2-5 for the 2009-10 winter season. Revelation Bowl opened in 2008-09 as the biggest story in ski country, along with Gold Hill 1. Palmyra Peak, Black Iron Bowl and Gold Hill 6-10 opened in 2007-08 to huge public response.
