Donation Day and the First Turns of the Season
Telluride Ski Season Begins Nov. 24

Telluride, Colorado (November 22, 2010) Telluride Ski Resort opens the 2010-2011 ski season with Donation Day on Wednesday, Nov. 24. All skiers and riders will pay $25 to hit the slopes with all proceeds going to the Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club. Children under the age of five will ski for free.

"We're thrilled that TSG has brought back this program to help raise additional funds for the ski and snowboard club," stated Justin Chandler, the Executive Director of the Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club. "TSG has always been our biggest supporter. We could not operate without their efforts and generosity."

The Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club will be offering free hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts to be served at the Gondola station in the Mountain Village all day.
"The Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club is an integral part of this community, and instrumental in developing young skiers and snowboarders here in the valley," said Telluride Ski & Golf CEO Dave Riley. "They have also taken a leading role in managing the volunteer efforts for Telluride's World Cup competition, which is key to the success of the event and its benefits for the destination as a whole. With such dedication to the community effort, we are proud to be able to put on this fundraising day for them, and hope everyone in the region will come out."

Lifts and terrain for Donation Day will consist of Village Express (4) with skiing on Village Bypass and Boomerang, with Gondola and Chondola for Mountain Village access. Both Magic Carpets will also be open and Ski School lessons available. The early season terrain park above Gorrono Ranch will be accessible with rails and jibs.

The Hop Garden will be hosting a Donation Day Ski Party with buy one entree, get the second ½ off with Donation Day lift ticket and Happy Hour all day. Come by for $3 Fat Tires and $12 pitchers, $2 PBRs and $7 pitchers along with $2.50 well drinks.

On Thanksgiving Day, access to See Forever via Polar Queen and Apex Lifts is anticipated for all pass and ticket holders along with Village Bypass and Lower Boomerang. The snowmaking operations are in full swing and the groomers are working the snow to provide the best quality skiing possible.

With the 9 inches of recent snow and more forecasted for later today and Wednesday, this will benefit early season conditions and assist in the resort opening more terrain.
