    U.S. Snowboarding to Announce Snowboardcross Team in Telluride
    Full Week of World Cup Events Scheduled


    Telluride, Colorado (December 11, 2010) - Telluride Ski Resort and U.S. Snowboarding will host a media event announcing the 2011 U.S. Snowboardcross Team this Thursday during the sole U.S. stop of the LG FIS Snowboard World Cup. Athletes, including 2010 Olympic gold medalist Seth Wescott, five-time X Games gold medalist Nate Holland and 2006 Olympic silver medalist Lindsey Jacobellis, will be on site for Telluride's Visa U.S. Snowboardcross Cup, Dec. 15-18.

    The Snowboardcross Team announcement will be held at the Hop Garden in the Mountain Village at 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 16. Following, the U.S. team will gather for a poster signing until 6 pm. The public is invited to attend and meet their favorite U.S. athletes.

    We are thrilled to have the FIS Snowboard World Cup back to Telluride, and equally excited and honored to be the venue for the U.S. team announcement," said Elizabeth Howe, Director of the World Cup Organizing Committee.

    Parallel Giant Slalom (PGS) and Snowboardcross (SBX) training and qualifications kick-off on Tuesday and Wednesday, with PGS finals on Thursday, SBX finals on Friday, and the Team SBX finals on Saturday. Award ceremonies will immediately follow the finals.

    Team members will also visit the Telluride Mountain School at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. On Friday evening, the Telluride Conference Center will put on the Dub Skins Concert at 9 p.m. The official World Cup closing party will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Crazy Elk Pizza in Mountain Village.
