![]() Press ReleasesFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Telluride to Host NASTAR Family Challenge Telluride, Colorado (March 14, 2011) Telluride Ski Resort brings the opportunity for some good natured family competition on the slopes with the Nature Valley NASTAR Family Challenge this Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20. Cuties California Clementines is sponsoring a weekend of activities that includes race clinics, racing, awards, giveaways and eating oranges. Each day will begin with a race clinic from 10-11:30 a.m. by three-time Olympian and National Champion Caroline Lalive. Lalive will coach on the course, going over course inspections, starts, turns and the finish. Clinics will be followed each day by races broken into two sessions beginning at 11:30 a.m. and wrapping up at 3 p.m. Awards and autograph signing will be held at the Cuties tent in the Mtn. Village Heritage Plaza at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. “This is a great way to celebrate the competitive spirit and have families come out to ski and compete as a team,” said John Jett, Race Director for Telluride Ski Resort. “It’s also a perfect way to exemplify a healthy and fun lifestyle.” There will be two categories of racing teams, Family and Friend made up of two or three members. Larger families may opt to race as two teams. The top two finishers on each team will contribute to the team score with the top five teams winning awards, and the fastest Family team walking away with a Cuties HD Flip Video Camera each day. The event will be held on the NASTAR course located on Butterfly off of the Village Express Lift (4).
