Experience All Telluride has to Offer
Eco Adventures, Outdoor Excursions and Kids Programs

Telluride, Colorado (May 17, 2011) -Did you know the alarm system for beaver communities is a loud "SLAP" of a tail on the water's surface? Did you know that jeep tours up Imogene Pass take you through the ghost town of Tomboy, with all of its rich history, to the top of the third highest 4x4 pass in Colorado? At Telluride Eco Adventures , adults and children alike can come and learn about the hundreds of things that make up our fascinating history and environment, as well as take advantage of all the region has to offer.

Eco Adventures offers outdoor programs, information and booking services for all the activities in the Telluride region. From fly fishing on serene mountain streams to afternoons filled with exciting plant & animal discoveries, hiking the great alpine trails to rafting the mighty San Miguel River, there is something for everyone.

"Connecting families to this unique area with outdoor exploration and fun experiences is what Eco Adventures is all about," said Eco Adventures and Environmental Programs Manager, Katie Geissler. "Eco Adventures is one-stop shopping for all the region has to offer. Our goal is to expand everyone's knowledge and enhance the overall enjoyment of Telluride and its surroundings."

Summer programs include Kids Camp, a full day of fun, indoor & outdoor educational activities for 5-12 year olds. Summer Eco Programs for kids and/or families are also provided with morning or afternoon fully customizable curricula for kids 3 and up with or without their parents.

New this summer, Lil' Kids Camp caters to those 2 months to 4 years of age. With activities ranging from art room projects to picnics in the park and small hikes from the top of the gondola, younger children will have great experiences with the Telluride region.

The St. Sophia Nature Center opens seven days a week beginning June 10. A variety of educational activities for both children and adults are located steps from the top of the gondola on Coonskin Ridge. Visitors may stop by to learn about area ecosystems, local flora and fauna, or get the latest hiking and biking trail information. Both Eco Adventures and the St. Sophia Nature Center carry essential outdoor gear for both kids and adults including hydration packs, rain gear, snacks, sunscreen, etc.

Located in the Franz Klammer breezeway in Mountain Village, Eco Adventures will be open Monday - Friday starting June 13. Please come by, call 970.728.7300, or visit us at www.tellurideskiresort.com to plan your summer adventure.
