![]() Press ReleasesFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE First Turns of the Season for a Great Program Telluride, Colorado (November 19, 2012) Telluride Ski Resort opens the 2012-2013 ski season with the Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club fundraising event, Donation Day on Wednesday, Nov. 21. All skiers and riders will pay $25 to hit the slopes with all proceeds going to TSSC. Children under the age of five will ski for free. “Telluride Ski Resort provides us with this opportunity to raise money for the kids of the community that participate in the club,” stated Justin Chandler, the Executive Director of the Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club. “TSG has always been our biggest supporter. We could not operate without their efforts and generosity.” The Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club will be offering free hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts at the base of the stairs of the Gondola station in the Mountain Village throughout the day. “The Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club is an outstanding program and instrumental in developing young skiers and snowboarders here in the valley,” said Telluride Ski & Golf owner Chuck Horning. “We are proud to be able to put on this fundraising day for them, and hope everyone in the region will come out to get their first runs of the season and help support an great program.” Lifts and terrain for Donation Day will consist of Mountain Village Express (4) with skiing on Village Bypass to Lower Boomerang and Lower Misty Maiden. The Gondola will be open for access to skiing on the Village Express terrain as well. The Magic Carpet at the base of Mountain Village Express will also be open and Ski School lessons available. The early season terrain park above Gorrono Ranch will be accessible with a few hits, rails and jibs. The Crazy Elk will be open with have pizzas, sandwiches, salads available Wednesday. The Tomboy Tavern will open for business starting Thursday, Nov. 22. Allred's Restaurant will open for dinner Tuesday, Nov. 20 and will be serving an Apres Ski menu at 3 p.m. beginning Thursday, Nov. 22. A special Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be served with a four course traditional dinner for $45 per person. Allred's regular dinner menu will also be available. The Pass Office in the Mountain Village will be open for sales and season pass pickups and the ticket office at Oak Street will be open in the mornings for ticket sales. The Coonskin Pass & Ticket Office will also be open daily from 8am – 4pm, any season pass product may also be picked up from that location in Telluride. Passes should be picked up as early as possible in order to avoid lines during the busy season. Snowmaking operations are in full swing and the groomers are working the snow to provide the best quality skiing possible. Additional terrain will open as conditions allow.
