Prospect Basin and Other Resort Area Closures
“We are very excited to kick off the summer season. With Spring comes the annual Prospect Basin Elk Calving Closure.” – Patrick Latcham, VP of Sales and Marketing for Telluride Ski and Golf.
The Prospect Basin including the Prospect Trail, Prospect Loop, Basin Trail, Meridian Trail and the entire Prospect, Gold Hill, and Palmyra Basin areas are closed to ALL access May 20th through June 30th.
“This summer we also have a lot going on with operations and Chair 9. Work on removing Chair 9 is already well underway. We have removed all chairs, cleared the fluids, and are getting ready to remove the terminals next week. We will be sharing updates on the progress and closures via social.” – Patrick Latcham.
Starting May 23rd:
See Forever Trail, Wasatch Connection and all surrounding areas in the Lift 6, 9, 14 and 15 areas are CLOSED to ALL ACCESS. This closure comes in conjunction with the Lift 9 replacement and associated construction projects.
“This closure is expected to last the duration of the summer in order to maintain public safety. Please avoid these areas and respect all closures. Closure will be in affect 7-days a week and 24hrs a day.” – Scott Pittenger, Director of Operations Telluride Ski and Golf.
Closures to Expect:
Other components of the trail network and areas within the Telluride Ski Area will be intermittently closed this summer due to various construction activities. These closures will affect the Telluride Trail, Camels Garden trail, Short Loop, Prospect Trail, Prospect Loop, Basin Trail, Meridian Trail and potentially others.
“Construction days that incorporate heavy transportation of lift materials and helicopter flight days will initiate wide-spread closures in order to protect the public from any unnecessary risk. Please respect all closures and ski area personnel enforcing road and area closures.” – Scott Pittenger.
