Telluride is known for its natural beauty and our commitment to the environment. Our resort was developed in a way that preserved the mountains and the historic charm of Telluride.

Tesla & Telluride

The connection between Telluride and Tesla is amazing. The first AC powerplant in history was designed and built by Nikola Tesla in Telluride. This innovation changed the world as we know it and allowed energy to be transported further distances than direct currents. Today, Tesla is changing history once again by leading the shift to electric vehicles.

UPHILL ACCESS

As of April 12, 2024, uphill access is now allowed on Telluride Ski Resort to non-motorized traffic ONLY. Snowmobiles are not allowed, and sledding is NEVER allowed.

Remember to know before you go and check the local avalanche forecast before skiing on the Resort during this time. Ski Patrol will not respond to on-mountain incidents and all avalanche mitigation work will cease.

Please treat the terrain on the Resort as backcountry terrain, be prepared for self-rescue, and call 911 in the case of any emergency. A shovel, beacon, probe, and communication device is recommended for anyone accessing resort terrain.

Mountain Operations continue through the off-season, so please be alert to snow machines traveling around the mountain, plowing of the summer road network, and unmarked hazards.

The annual elk-calving closure will begin May 20th, closing the Prospect Basin until July 1th.
