  • WHAT IS YOUR SICK POLICY?

Telluride Ski & Golf, LLC (TSG) reserves the right to limit enrollment or refuse admittance to any child who, in TSG’s sole discretion, does not fit into the program due to load limitations, age, adaptability, separation anxiety, causing harm to others, or illness. Any child showing symptoms of COVID -19 or any illness, including the common cold, WILL NOT be accepted into our program until we discuss the proper protocol depending upon the symptom. We will be doing symptom checks on ALL children throughout the day and will notify the parents immediately if any symptoms arise. If, during the day your child shows any symptoms of COVID -19 or ANY illness, they will no longer be allowed in our care and will need to be picked up immediately. We will contact the parents first and then the authorized adult contact. Your child will be isolated from the group and placed in a safe location until a family member arrives to pick up your child.

By the State of Colorado rules and regulations for our program we are required to send children home whom show ANY sign of illness. In order to operate to the best of our ability it is important that our staff and the children in our care remain healthy. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. We see children from all over the world, your understanding and our policies allows us to protect EVERYONE and to provide the best level of quality care. Thank you for understanding.

POLICY for ANY CHILD SHOWING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19:
Your child cannot return to our program until they have been isolated for 5 days, are symptom free for 24 consecutive hours without the help of fever reducing medication and receive a negative COVID-19 test result that was taken on day 3 and day 5 from the onset of symptoms. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter! There are no exceptions!

    POLICY FOR ALL OTHER ILLNESSES
We will provide you with the proper protocol depending upon the symptom and after we have ruled out COVID-19. The protocol will likely be that your child cannot return to our program for at least 48 hours. Your child will then need to be symptom free for 24 consecutive hours without the use of fever reducing medication or medication of any kind prior to returning to our care.

    POLICY FOR SICK CHILDREN
In the event that your child is sick, you must notify Cubs Camp at The Nursery no later than 7:45 a.m. on the day of your reservation. After that time, you will be charged for the space we have reserved for you. Children whom develop symptoms in our care or whom are brought into our care sick will be sent home with NO refund.

    POLICY FOR MEDICATION
In the event that your child has an emergency medication that needs to be administered, the following must be provided: original container for the medication with the label’s instructions, the doctor’s orders as well as written parental consent. Only emergency medications will be administered. Our Staff that administer medications are qualified in accordance with Colorado State Law. We CANNOT give your child over the counter medication, even for teething

If you are concerned your child is showing any symptom(s) of COVID-19, the common cold, or ANY illness, we recommend CANCELLING your reservation ASAP and you will receive a full refund for your entire reservation!

Otherwise your child will be sent home with NO REFUND!

Please note that the above policies are also followed by our staff to ensure we all stay healthy and can operate in the best manner possible. Sickness in staff may affect our daily operations!

  • WHAT IF MY CHILD GETS UPSET WHILE IN THE CUB’S CAMP NURSERY?

First and foremost, if your child becomes upset, we will approach your child with patience, love and tender care. We will do our very best to comfort your child. We will review the paperwork for the information you provided us to best comfort your child. If we need more suggestions and guidance we will give you a call immediately. We can discuss the situation together and figure out the best plan moving forward for your child. Our goal is for your child to have a wonderful toddler/cubs experience. We understand this may be your child’s first time away from a loved one and adjusting may be difficult. Furthermore; our nursery staff has the experience to connect the specific needs of children whom need extra attention to positively and successful transition to our surroundings. We have a few suggestions on handling separation anxiety in a childcare setting.

    1. Bring a familiar toy or security blanket
    2. Arrange a visit to our facility prior to your first day (before/ after our operating hours)
    3. Avoid letting this be your child’s first experience away from you. It is helpful if your child has learned to trust other adults (babysitters, caregivers, etc.)
    4. Talk to your child about how much fun he or she will have in the nursery!
    5. Tell your child where you will be and when you will return

Two great book recommendations for this topic are Anna Dewdney’s Llama Llama Misses Mama or Audrey Penn’s The Kissing Hand. We have both these books in our nursery library and will be happy to read to your child upon arrival with your suggestion.

  • WILL MY CHILDREN BE IN THE SAME PROGRAM INSIDE THE NURSERY?

    Absolutely!

  • WHAT AGE GROUPS DO YOU TAKE?

    Winter Seasons: 1 year – 4 years
    Summer Seasons: 2 months – 4 years

  • IS YOUR STAFF CPR CERTIFIED?

Yes! At least one individual working daily has CPR/AED certification.

  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

The Cub’s Camp Nursery needs to be notified via email or phone 72 hours in advance of your reservation in order to receive a full refund. After that, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged.

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NURSERY’S CUB PRODUCT AND THE SKI SCHOOL OTTER’S PROGRAM?

The cubs lessons are very introductory. Our qualified instructors take their time and allow the child to get acquainted on his or her own pace. They typically “ski” for 40ish minutes, by the time they get the gear on, chat about the fundamentals, discuss the basics, go out to ski, and then have time to remove the gear at the end.

The otter’s program through our ski school is a full day program (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.). The objective is to spend the whole day skiing (on the magic carpet). They come inside for lunch.

Cubs have rest/play time indoors. Otters ski school is specifically skiing and outdoors all day.
More stamina is needed for otters. Cubs isn’t as demanding in the stamina aspect.

Cubs DO NOT need to be potty-trained
    Otters NEED to be potty-trained
Cubs can take a nap/have quiet time
Naps/quiet time are NOT available for the Otter’s program

I’m happy to answer any other specific questions you may have or help decide between the two.

I do all things nursery/cubs. The otter’s program is through our ski school, they can be contacted at 970-728-7545 or email at Children@Telski.com.
